Improve Sabbath Day observance in the home and at church.

'Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep; for it is a sign between me and you.' (Exodus 31:13)

All members worthily have a temple recommend and participate in temple work.

'No sacrifice is too great, no price too heavy, no struggle too difficult in order to receive [the] blessings [of the temple].' (President Thomas S. Monson)

Read the Book of Mormon daily.

'I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day.' (President Thomas S. Monson)

Reach out, one by one, rescuing those that are less active.

“For unto such shall ye continue to minister…and I shall heal them.” (3 Ne 18:32)

Each member shares the Gospel with others not of our faith.

“And if it so be that you should…bring save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy.” (D&C 18:15)

Pay an honest tithe and a generous fast offering.

'Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse ... and prove me now.' (Malachi 3:10)

Take personal responsibility to work and become self-reliant.

“Self-reliance is the ability, commitment, and effort to provide the spiritual and temporal necessities of life for self and family.” (Handbook 2, 6.1.1)

Better prepare “the rising generation” to successfully serve full-time missions.

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

Measuring Progress

All members are invited to set goals and measure progress regularly.  Keep in mind that many important elements of discipleship cannot be measured such as Christ-like attributes, personal and family devotion and service to others.  Look for evidences of the hand of the Lord in your life as you work towards your goals.

'When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.' (President Thomas S. Monson)

Implementation

Individuals and families:  All individual members of the Church are invited to set goals in harmony with the area plan and then work to make progress towards them.  Please prayerfully consider what blessings will come as you set and achieve personal and family goals.

Leaders: Members of coordinating, stake, and ward councils should prayerfully develop specific steps they will take to accomplish the area vision, priorities, and goals. By developing such steps, leaders help more individuals and families receive the full blessings of the gospel.

Accountability and Follow Up: Area Seventies encourage stake presidents to develop meaningful ways to implement the area plan and continually follow up with them on their progress. Stake presidents in turn encourage bishops to work with priesthood and auxiliary leaders in developing ways to implement the area plan and likewise follow up with them.
